In March of 2009, Vistage International began the selection process to form the first Vistage CEO advisory baord that will comprised of CEOs, presidents and business leaders within 100 miles of Omaha.  This is an exclusive peer group of business leaders who will join together monthly to challenge each others thinking, generate ideas, uncover blindspots, and tap into a brain-trust of sixteen experts. 

In June of 2009 the first members of the board gathered and the first ever Vistage Private advisory board was launched.  In August of 2009, the first members of a Trusted Advisory Board was launched.   The Trusted Advisors know that CEOs are often isolated and when they do raise their hand for help they end up with a lot of folks lined up out their door. This is how the Trusted Advisors help the CEO navigate to the resources they need.  They have the CEOs best interest at hand without any obligation or biased opinion.

By October 2009 , 13 individuals were selected, invited and appointed to the CEO Vistage Omaha board.  By December 2009 the first board will be filled and a second CEO board will begin to form.

It’s Lonely At the Top…

CEOs who find that often its lonely at the top and experience isolation find the Vistage board meetings a place where the can have those “hidden conversations” that they may not want to have yet with their direct reports, accountants, lawyers, consultants or analysts.  In addition, the boardroom creates an opportunity for the business leader to tap into the brain-trust of 15 other business leaders to gain new perspectives and learn from each others expertise.

Individuals Must Be Invited To Join And Go Through A Selection Process

Individuals nominated as candidates for Vistage Advisory boards  go through a selection process to determine if the board will be good fit for their needs and if they will be a good fit for the board. A careful selection process is used to create synergy and add value.  Members typically when appointed to the board stay an average of 8.9 years without any contacts and they see their annual growth rate grow 2 to 3 times once in Vistage.

Currently several local CEOs have been appointed to the first Chief Executives Board that is being formed by Cathy Fitzhenry, a CEO located in Omaha who has been invited by Vistage to select the members. Fitzhenry currently drives to Kansas City to sit on an advisory board and is eager to see Vistage boards form in the Omaha area.
